The BROSCO Stock Species of Exterior Wood Doors:
Mahogany -  Mahogany is a richly colored material that is among the more valuable wood species in the world. It is  known for its unique pink coloring, which develops into a deep reddish-brown as the wood ages.  Unlike other wood species mahogany wood features very few knots or voids.  This gives the wood smooth, even grain pattern, which makes it ideal for classical  high-end entranceways.

Red Oak -  The Red Oak trees are hardwood which is most abundant throughout the eastern US and Canada.  The heartwood of the tree is a pinkish, reddish brown with a mostly straight-grained and a coarse texture.  Oak is very popular in furniture, hardwood floors, architectural millwork and mouldings, kitchen cabinets along with interior and Exterior doors.  The Oak tree is the official tree of NJ.

Fir -  One of the largest, most abundant and widely distributed species of trees in North America.  Once cut the fir wood becomes a reddish or rich reddish-brown color.  Clean lines and warm coloring give our vertical grain Douglas Fir doors an enduring appeal.

Pine - A very popular door species in the northeast.   Pine is used on numerous projects from decking to moulding trim and renovation because of its stability and workability.  The honey-toned color with straight uniform grains make it a popular choice when specifying a new door.

Knotty Alder -  This authentic Knotty Alder door features open knots, as well as other unique rustic characteristics.  The open, solid knots gives Knotty Alder a more informal presence.  It has the strength of maple and the personality of pine.  The Alder is light brown in color with yellow and peach hues.  A stain finish can further highlight the beautiful grain

Other wood door species available as a special factory order and include:
Alder, Ash, Cherry, Hickory, Knotty Hemlock, Knotty Pine, Maple, Poplar, Walnut, White Birch and White Oak.
